a winter angel
The Angel is probably one of my simplest designs to stitch. There is a lot of backstitch but there is the opportunity to practice your satin stitch and french knots along with some simple fern stitch. The original angel was stitched in pink but this year I decided she needed a more natural update.
I only used 5 colours for this angel. The thread is DMC stranded cotton in the following colours
779 3051 ecru 834 922
779 is a lovely warm brown for her hair, face and hands. If you wanted a lighter or softer feel you could use 451 instead.
I was really pleased with the ecru and gold wings. I chose to stitch the dress in a dark green (3051) as I wanted a natural feel to it but you could continue the theme of the wings and stitch it in gold (834).
Because there are only five colours and they are distinct I think it’s possible to stitch the angel from the photographs but if you get stuck do message me and I will be glad to help.
The angel pattern and printed panel are available in my Etsy shop (but are pictured in pink in the shop).
I hope you find this colour palette helpful
